Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | Co-Lecturer for NURS2720.03 – Health & Healing I: Pathophysiology and Therapeutics Fundamentals of health and disease patterns, the role of genetics, developmental biology and environment are explored. Cellular mechanisms, inflammatory and infectious responses and cellular biology of cancer are investigated. Diagnosis and therapeutic concepts including preventative therapies and pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions with consideration of age and cultural variations are introduced. This is a 3-credit hour course and lectures are held twice weekly. The successful candidate will be co-teaching this course with another lecturer, and the appointment runs from September 1 until December 31, 2024. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topics • Teach course content • Assessment and evaluation of student learning • Use of Brightspace for course delivery • Responding to student queries about coursework • Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace • Participation in course discussions within the program • Develop and administer examinations • Submission of grades • Follow up with students as necessary |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position | Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with a strong background in pharmacology including pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and pathophysiology. Nurse Practitioner degree preferred. Prior teaching experience an asset. |
Salary Range/Pay Rate | Per CUPE Collective Agreement |
