RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the supervision of the Technical Platform Manager - Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM) and of the Manager of the Montréal General Hospital MRI Research Platform (MGH), and following established governmental guidelines and regulations, the incumbent is responsible for conducting primarily magnetic resonance (MRI) examinations for the RI-MUHC clinical studies.

General Duties
• Performs magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as per the clinical research protocol and the imaging manual in adults (MGH and CIM) and in babies and children (during natural sleep) (CIM)
• Receives and prepares research participants (CIM and MGH). For studies with babies/children explains the exam to parents (CIM)
• Injects contrast agents, if required
• Ensures security around the magnetic field and conformity of equipment
• Upload image to PACS or other methods as requested by the research team of the study
• Meets the research teams, on request
• Act as the liaison between the study coordinators and research radiologists
• Any other tasks as assigned by the manager.


Education / Experience

• DEC, Radio diagnostic specialization,
• Member of the « Ordre des technologues en imagerie, en radio-oncologie et en électrophysiologie médicale du Québec » (OTIMROEPMQ)
• Minimum 1 years of experience in the specialty required, and / or as a technologist in radiology
• Very high flexibility for schedules (unpredictable end of work shift).
• Excellent organizational skills, multiple priority management and multitasking
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work alone
• Good verbal and written communication skills in French and English


Additional information

Status : Part time on call Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday daytime or evenings / early night, approximately 2 to 6 times per months according to the needs of the studies and availabilities of the technologists.
Pay Scale: $23.00/hour- $43.00/hour
Work Shift: Variable, usually starting at 16:00 or later, may end up until midnight on occasion (CIM) or daytime between 9:00am-5:00pm as needed (MGH)
Work Site: Glen Site and Montréal General Hospital (MGH)
