Athletics and recreation

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the Masters and Triathlon Swim Coach may perform some or all of the listed functions. These functions are of high complexity and performs them using general instructions.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare 1-1.5-hour practices, which suit the level and theme of the scheduled workout.
  • Energetically deliver written workouts to group of 15-40 athletes.
  • Provide technical feedback on all 4 swim strokes and other aspects of competitive swimming.
  • Perform fitness assessments
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines and understand all emergency procedures.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • NLS as well as Standard First Aid are required
  • Two-year coaching/teaching experience is requested
  • Experience in coaching competitive swim strokes
  • Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing
