Job Description

The Manager, Registration, Transfers and Systems is the university’s expert on the interrelationship between the academic regulations, student record management, and the student experience. Working with minimal supervision, the Manager, Registration, Transfers and Systems liaises regularly with the Registrar on the continuous improvement of academic regulations and their interpretation and student academic matters. This position provides leadership on the academic processes that meet the specific needs of the many and varied academic programs, and student progression pathways and oversees the implementation of these by the Registration Advisors. In addition, the Manager, Registration, Transfers and Systems oversees the work of the Student System Coordinator in the ongoing development and coordination of the student Information and event management systems.


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of five years administrative or management experience preferably in a post-secondary environment
  • Minimum of five years experience in Admissions and/or Registration office in a post secondary institution, including a minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
  • Strong customer service orientation; ability to communicate effectively with a range of people, sometimes in difficult circumstances
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to exercise independent judgement in complex, dynamic situations. An innovative problem solver who combines creativity with rigour. Demonstrated ability to methodically analyze and solve problems taking in to account the university’s enrolment goals, academic standards, reputation, legal implications, and precedence.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of staff at different levels in the organization, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a team approach aimed at accomplishing the university’s goals and to positively influence people and events using consultative, consensus-building techniques
  • Strong planning and project management skills. Ability to develop departmental work plans that are aligned with strategic university direction, annual goals, and key performance indicators
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail; highly developed problem-solving skills; ability to conduct independent research and analysis and make recommendations;
  • Sound working knowledge of admission and registration policies and procedures and ability to advise, train, and counsel others in the need for academic standards;
  • Advanced computer skills required (Microsoft Office suite of software) as well as familiarity with student information systems (Agresso Student World)

 


Additional Information
This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at MPT-D with a salary range of $84,423 (minimum) to $99,223 (midpoint) to $114,023 (maximum) per annum. Employment offers will normally be made between the minimum and midpoint of the range and are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
