RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who will work under the direction of Dr. Pierre-Olivier Fiset.

ROLE:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, participates in the execution of laboratory projects and experiments. Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks according to established methodology. Prepares materials and equipment. Compiles data. Maintains equipment.

General Duties
• Participates in the execution of Pathology Laboratory projects,
• Retrieve, collect and organize Pathology slides and blocks,
• Set up and scan glass slides with digital pathology scanners in Pathology Department of the MUHC,
• Organize digital slides by case and by protocol (special stains and immunohistochemistry),
• Setup deidentification process of digital slides.
• Maintains records and files in database.
• Setup backup and data transfers across network,
• Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the work area,
• Filing of completed cases.

Education / Experience

Education: CEGEP or Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study: Science or Research Lab technology

Work Experience: none.


Required Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook),
• Programming skills (not necessary but an asset).


Additional information

Status: Temporary, part time
Pay Scale: 22.27$/hr.
Work Shift: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm., Mondays to Wednesdays
Work Site: Glen Site
