Department of Biology


Position Summary:

  • Assists in generating mesocosm zooplankton data;

  • Counts and identifies a subset zooplankton species preserved in ethanol using a light microscope;

  • Organizes and manages sample bottles;

  • Data entry and cleanup;

  • Ensures ethanol waste disposal;

  • Assists graduate students with RNA extractions:

  • Helps process samples for extractions;

  • Helps maintain clean lab environment;

  • Helps in possible preparation lab for extractions e.g. making sure enough consumables are available, cleaning glassware, and autoclaving non-consumable lab equipment.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Attention to detail; teamwork.

Experience and education:

  • BSc degree an asset

  • Experience in a lab setting


Minimum Education and Experience:


High School Diploma


Hourly Salary:


(AMUSE B) $18.50
