Hiring Unit:
Department of Biology (Professor Abigail Gerhold)
Position Summary:

• Prepares media and C. elegans culture plates to meet weekly lab needs.
• Prepares solutions and reagents.
• Cleans and sterilizes glassware.
• Communicates with lab members about media and reagent needs.

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Excellent attention to detail and time management.
• Good interpersonal skills; maintain strong lines of communication with supervisor and lab members.
• Must be approved by the McGill Work Study program .

Education/Experience:

• Experience with media preparation within a laboratory environment.
• Experience with basic sterile techniques.
• Progress towards a BSc in Biology or closely related field.

Location:  This position is located in Montreal, Quebec and the work for this position is expected to be performed in Quebec.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.  The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (3) qualifier on a scale of 0-4.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience

Hourly Salary:

(AMUSE B) $16.85
