The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
Under the supervision of the principal investigator, the junior research assistant will be responsible for supporting the successful conduct of the study “iMproving cArdiovascular healTh in new moThERS: sheMATTERS”.

General Duties
• Collection of follow up study information: attending visits, review of patient charts, obtaining clinical measures such as participants weight and blood pressure,
• Help with recruitment of participants for the sheMATTERS study (explain the study in English and French, answer any question a participant may have, sign and hand out inform consent forms) if needed,
• Helping study participants to complete electronic questionnaires,
• Centrifuging and storing blood specimens in a lab,
• Data entry using electronic data bases such as REDCap,
• Conducting literature reviews,
• Attending research team meetings,
• Complete other tasks as required by the supervisor.

Education: Bachelor's degree which must be already started
Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)
Field of Study: Health Science, Nursing

Skills:
• Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.

This position is a Canada Summer Jobs opportunity. This is a government program offered to young Canadians aged 15 to 30 years old. To qualify, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment and legally entitled to work in Canada [which means you must have a valid social insurance number (SIN)].

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek) for 8 weeks contract
Pay Scale: $18.00/hour
Work Shift: Daytime
Work Site: Glen site, 5252 de Maisonneuve and possibly St Mary’s Hospital and Jewish General Hospital if required for the month of July.
