Position Details
The University of Lethbridge is looking for a forward thinking, motivated individual to fill a full-time continuing position of International Student Recruitment Officer.
The successful candidate will report to the Manager, International Student Recruitment and is responsible for the execution of the strategic international recruitment and marketing efforts for the university and the English Language Institute.
The major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing and implementing appropriate sales and marketing strategies for international target markets
  • Promoting the University of Lethbridge’s programs and special qualities, including the EAP program in the ELI, in order to recruit international students according to management objectives
  • Representing the University of Lethbridge at education fairs, secondary school visits, college visits, virtual fairs
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders and internal staff members
  • Advising prospective students, parents and counsellors on all aspects of academic program options
  • Correspond, train, and evaluate current and future educational agents
  • Delivering recruitment presentations in group settings
  • Managing international inquiries and encouraging applications
  • Assisting with the development of promotional materials
  • Performing additional related duties as required

This position requires international travel throughout the year with extended stays in foreign countries where evenings, weekends, and long hours are required.
The successful candidate will need to be or become quickly familiar with the distinctive programs offered at the University of Lethbridge and with a variety of international secondary and post-secondary educational systems.

Note: A valid unrestricted Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.
Position Qualifications
The position requires an undergraduate degree preferably from the University of Lethbridge and at least two years of related work experience with exceptional presentation, communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience should demonstrate a strong work ethic, high initiative, and independent decision-making ability. The successful candidate must have a valid passport to travel internationally.
Preference will be given to those who have:
  • International student liaison/recruitment experience
  • Post-secondary education in sales/marketing, or public relations experience
  • Experience in cross-cultural settings and/or international travel
  • Knowledge of a second language
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $5,291.00 - $5,990.00 monthly
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $5,291.00 - $6,687.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 12)
