Reporting to the Team Lead, the Intermediate Analyst is responsible for the provision of Test Scoring & Surveys (TSS) to our clients within the University community and other agencies.

The Intermediate Analyst must have the initiative and competence to work in an independent manner, regularly operate under very tight deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads. This position will also be responsible for projects that will require statistical analysis and programming.

Duties

  • Provides information, assistance and technical advice to University instructors, researchers, administrators and off campus users of the Information Services and Technology (IST) Test Scoring and Surveys
  • Advises and consults with clients to assist in identifying the appropriate services required
  • Generates and manages online Universal Student Ratings of Instruction (USRI) questionnaires
  • Generates and manages customized web-based surveys
  • Coordinates client training sessions in support of TSS initiatives
  • Runs statistical/psychometric programs to provide results required by clients
  • Runs the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) computers to perform test scoring and data capture
  • Operates image scanners to perform data capture
  • Create, improve, or update software programs in support of TSS operation.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science majoring in mathematics, statistics or psychometrics
  • Programming skills in C++, C# & Python strongly desired
  • SQL knowledge preferably with Oracle
  • Knowledge and understanding of source code management software like GitHub and GitLab
  • Good understanding of statistics, questionnaire logic and usage
  • Ability to clearly explain or teach users how to prepare questionnaires and understand the results
  • Familiarity with usage  of main operating systems (i.e., UNIX, windows)
  • Familiarity with statistical software (i.e., SPSS and R) strongly desired
  • Proficiency in keyboarding, proofreading for spelling and grammar, numerical reasoning
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
  • Professional, ethical and uses excellent judgement at all times
