About us:

The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, and Document Management applications.

Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Manager, SIS Core System Products, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational Next Generation Student Information Services (NGSIS) technology solutions to the University. Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University’s administrative management and student systems. You will be responsible for maintaining existing and developing new solutions for system integration platforms. You will liaise with developers, application/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff to recommend and implement improvements to enhance workflows while employing best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, testing, and modifying programming code, including managing 250 plus pipelines and thousands of lines of SQL
  • Writing complex technical code, including real-time and batch integrations between custom developed and vendor applications
  • Developing and updating architectural framework for highly complex and confidential university-wide applications
  • Analyzing, recommending, and designing highly complex software architecture
  • Analyzing programming solutions to ensurecompliance with best practices and industry standards
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years experience with Azure Data Factory
  • Experience integrating with the Salesforce platform
  • Minimum five years experience in software development
  • Thorough understanding of the technical platform, databases, API, caching layer, proxies, and other systems used for integration
  • Experience with DB2, MS SQL Server, or other relational databases
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the abilityto work effectively in a team environment, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to team members with limited technical backgrounds


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Experience with Salesforce Education Data Architecture (EDA) or Education Cloud
  • Experience with Azure API Management
  • Experience with data engineering
  • Experience with ETL tools
  • Experience with building web applications: Spring Boot, Java, NodeJS, unit testing frameworks
