The School of Information Technology invites applications from qualified candidates for a preliminary appointment in Web Project Management at the rank of Instructor beginning July 1, 2023.

Candidates should have a broad expertise in web design and development, but we are especially interested in candidates with expertise that meets the School of Information Technology’s teaching needs. Candidates should be proficient in full-stack web development, web design, database design, and project management. They should be capable of teaching modern web development languages and frameworks such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, PHP, Python, Node, JQuery, Angular, and React. Familiarity with various project management styles such as Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and others is required. Candidates must have demonstrated familiarity with current web accessibility standards.

The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach courses that are integral to the successful functioning of the school at the undergraduate level, (ii) develop new and revise existing courses; and (iii) assist in the administration of the School’s ongoing activities.

The School of Information Technology is home to 17 top-performing full-time faculty members and offers PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees in Information Technology. The Bachelor of Information Technology degree covers four distinct programs: Interactive Multimedia & Design, Network Technology, Optical Systems & Sensors, and Information Resource Management; providing an innovative mix of courses drawing on a variety of disciplines and combining a strong foundation in academic theory with hands-on training. The graduate programs provide a framework to study and conduct research on all aspects of digital media, networking, and data science. A graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline, is preferred. Applicants with an undergraduate degree in one of these disciplines plus suitable professional experience (e.g., in web development and/or project management) will also receive serious consideration. Strong evidence of effective undergraduate teaching is an asset.
