Academic Services is focused on supporting SAIT’s schools and departments in their pursuit of SAIT’s strategic priorities.  Academic Services brings together several academic development, delivery, and quality assurance units with a common goal: student success.  Academic Services provides unique, flexible support programing designed to help learners succeed in their chosen SAIT career program.
The Opportunity
We are seeking experienced Instructors with outstanding teaching contributions and a collaborative team and student-centered attitude.
Reporting to the Academic Chair in Math and Engineering Sciences, you will be responsible for teaching some of: Math 237 (Pre-calculus and Technical Math), Math 238 (Calculus 1), and/or Math 288 (Calculus 2).

The Role
    • Deliver engaging courses in a face-to-face or an online synchronous setting.
    • Use applied learning opportunities to support student engagement and learning.
    • Evaluate students’ progress and provide timely formative feedback.
    • Provide ongoing academic support, guidance and advice to learners.
    • Familiarize students with available SAIT supports and make referrals as needed.
    • Collaborate with colleagues, sharing materials and innovative ideas to improve the student experience.

Qualifications & Experience
    • Be familiar with learning styles of a diverse body of learners and adapt accordingly
    • Must have prior experience teaching to adult learners
    • Must have a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree (B.SC .) from an accredited institution and Master’s degree in either a STEM field or Education.
    • Minimum of 3 year’s post-secondary teaching experience. Experience teaching in high school is an asset.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-work skills.
    • Excellent ability to time-manage and prioritize responsibilities.

Hourly Rate: 35.99- 40.48 CAD/HR
