This position will appeal to innovative individuals who enjoy a challenge, seek the opportunity to share their expertise, work with motivated learners and staff, and are interested in ongoing professional development. *Please note this is a temporary salaried position eligible for benefitsThe RolePreparation and presentation of Alberta, Machinist curriculumInstruction of curriculum to apprentices and related Certificate or Diploma programsInstruct and demonstrate course outline objectives, projects, and curriculum.Prepare additional study and lab materials for learnersParticipation in curriculum and program reviewsProvide ongoing support, guidance, and advice to learnersShow a personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learningWork with fellow faculty members on joint projects and curriculum maintenanceQualifications & Experience The successful candidate will have a Journeyperson Machinist Certificate and an Interprovincial Red Seal accompanied by 3 - 5 years of Industry experience in the Machinist trade as a JourneypersonTeaching experience would be considered an assetEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredKnowledge & SkillsAptitude for mentoring and coaching others, with a willingness to spend quality time to help students succeedComfortable with public speaking and have the ability to engagingly convey conceptual and practical course subjects to diverse students and learning stylesAbility to organize course concepts and materials to create an optimal learning environmentPossess a positive respectful attitude and desire to support team members and the Academic Chair with program improvementsAbility to adapt to situations such as unexpected workloadsExcellent communication skills, basic trade math, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office are also required. Proven interpersonal and teamwork skills are essential. Previous instructional experience would be an asset but not required. The Role
    • Preparation and presentation of Alberta, Machinist curriculum
    • Instruction of curriculum to apprentices and related Certificate or Diploma programs
    • Instruct and demonstrate course outline objectives, projects, and curriculum.
    • Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
    • Participation in curriculum and program reviews

Qualifications & Experience
