Your opportunity:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Academic Services, under the general supervision of the Instructional Support Team Lead and Associate Chair, Undergraduate Studies, and in consultation with faculty and instructors, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support for the teaching of Computer Science, particularly for first and second year Computer Science courses and labs.

Note: this is a term position to May 2025. 


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
  • Disseminating program and/or service information
  • Coordinating the submission process of student grades/marks
  • Coordinating the preparation and distribution of program and/or course material
  • Editing program and service materials
  • Collating and organizing materials
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Liaising with stakeholders to coordinate space and resource requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and recent and relevant experience. Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum two years of recent and related experience providing administrative support for an academic program in a post-secondary environment.
  • Experience providing support to University faculty, TAs, and staff in the coordination of large undergraduate courses, including non-exhaustively TA scheduling and communications, creating and maintaining course websites, maintaining records, ensuring correct setup of computing labs.
  • Demonstrated experience proofreading and formatting lecture notes, problem sets, tests and exams.
  • Demonstrated experience working with student and enrolment information, and generating reports.
  • Experience working with and providing information to undergraduate students.
  • Experience organizing and planning meetings/events.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of clients.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Well-developed and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and meet multiple competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.


Assets (Nonessential):

  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with Power Automate and Python or other programming languages.
  • Experience in ROSI or similar student information systems.
  • Thorough understanding of Computer Science courses and programs.
