Instructional Designer

Opportunity

The Centre for Teaching and Learning is seeking a highly skilled instructional designer to join their team. Reporting to the Director, eLearning, the instructional designer will support faculty and staff to transition from Blackboard Learn to Moodle. Through their knowledge of learning theories, instructional strategies, educational technologies, and faculty professional development, the instructional designer will develop, test, and deliver self-help resources, virtual training sessions, and in-person workshops on using Moodle. The instructional designer must be able to create video, text, screenshots, and interactive media resources. Extensive knowledge of Blackboard Learn 9 and Moodle 3 is required. Remaining current and aware of emerging educational technology trends is required. Interpersonal skills are essential to bring together team members with a wide range of skills and knowledge.

 Qualifications
  •  A master’s degree in education or a related discipline with relevant course work and experience will be considered. Courses or a program in instructional design is an asset.

  •  A minimum of two years instructional design experience.

  •  Experience teaching in a post-secondary environment is an asset.


Position Requirements

Applicants are expected to provide three references and, if invited for an interview, to discuss examples of representative training or professional development projects. A practical activity will follow the interview.
