Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary
The role of the Instructional Designer: Articulate Storyline is to build FUSION skills development modules aligned to the Skills for Success Framework using Articulate Storyline and support their implementation across several academic and industry partners. Guidance will be provided with regards to alignment with existing FUSION module format, and with FUSION project goals related to skills development, accessibility, and inclusivity.

Key Accountabilities
• Develop a project plan for the larger module production project, as well as the individual projects surrounding each of the modules.
• Build FUSION Skills module content in Articulate Storyline based on Skills for Success Framework, industry-leading adult learning principles, and instructional design worthwhile practices to enhance the learner experience and align to desired performance outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with the FUSION Implementation Lead, Instructional Designer Articulate Storyline, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Media Services, and other FUSION project members to clarify requirements for each FUSION skills module and follow through with a module creation approach that addresses the identified skills development needs.
• Learn the process of development of the modules and be able to replicate.
• Ensure quality and seamless learning experience is reflected in each module content.
• Ability to understand instructional design content and artifacts and translate them into Articulate Storyline code.
• Provide visual and design critiques to improve the usability and learning experience of module content, undertake Quality Assurance review to ensure modules are working as expected.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current practices and emerging trends in instructional technology, EDI principles, assessment of learning effectiveness, and online learning.
• Provide relevant and necessary information and training for FUSION project partners to support project pilot roll-out.
• Regularly meet with FUSION project team as required.


Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and practices including adult learning principles, interactive and inclusive learning design, and online learning techniques.
• Practical experience with and understanding of Articulate Storyline.
• Strong facilitation & presentation skills at all levels.
• The ability to collaborate with others and manage a creative development process.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
• Strong visual design skillset as demonstrated by portfolio or experience.
• Strong attention to detail with a reputation for being precise, thoughtful, and focused on delivering a consistent and high-quality learning experience.
• Ability to monitor progress and take initiative to address roadblocks alongside FUSION team.
• Ability to work with learning management systems (specifically Brightspace), and e-portfolios.
• Ability to analyze variety of information, consult with FUSION project team, and organize priorities and time.
• Proficiency in MS Office.


Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Bachelor’s or technical degree in, instructional design, digital communications, adult learning or other related area. Masters preferred.
• Experience with Articulate Storyline, Prezi, PowerPoint, or other content authoring tools.
• Experience leveraging different tools and functionality of Brightspace (or other LMSs) to integrate interactivity, multimedia, LMS tools, and features.
• Experience in the corporate education and training industry is desirable.
