About us:

The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as central Business Intelligence and Document Management applications.

Your opportunity:

Under the general direction of the Student Information Systems (SIS) Manager, Products and Applications, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solutions to the University. Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University’s administrative management and student systems. You will work in cross-functional teams with developers, analysts, designers and stakeholders on existing and new products using established methodologies, including Agile development processes. You will participate in all stages of the product life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation and support and be engaged with requirements gathering and gap analysis. Specifically, you will be involved in the continuing development of the Accommodated Testing Services (ATS) platform, implementation of existing and new functionality, and support for functionality already in production. You will work closely with managers, senior stakeholders and team leads in managing project and development priorities, development sprints and the product road map. You may be involved in work with associated systems in the Student Information Systems group.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting information from clients to assess IT needs
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems
  • Analyzing and documenting business requirements
  • Analyzing existing service and process procedures and recommending changes
  • Analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and developing technical solutions for systems improvements
  • Developing and revising business methods that support administrative workflow and objectives
  • Writing complex specifications based on system requirements
  • Keeping well-informed on policies, procedures, regulations and new technology

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years working in post secondary education, preferably in Information Technology or in support of teaching and learning.
  • Minimum five years working with or supporting enterprise level student information or curriculum support systems.
  • Minimum five years experience in business or systems analysis practices including requirements gathering and analysis, gap analysis, process analysis, and creating implementation plans.
  • Experience with the use of business analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel Pivot tables, MS Visio, LucidChart, PowerBI).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting users of business applications.
  • Experience in training users and producing system and user documentation.
  • Experience working in cross functional development and implementation teams including developers, user experience designers, business analysts and business owners/stakeholders.
  • Experience creating operational roadmaps.
  • Strong communication skills; able to present requirements, concepts and procedures to a diverse audience.

  • Familiarity with Accommodated Testing Services and accommodation needs of students'.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with Service Now or other service support and ticketing applications.
  • Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops or other project and task management applications.
  • Familiarity with Agile development processes.
  • Familiarity with ROSI.
  • Understanding of the evolving nature of higher education.
  • Experience in writing and executing queries and procedures in sql.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 14 -- $88,290 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $112,911. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
