The Office of the Vice Provost, Indigenous Engagement works within and outside the university to meet the unique needs of Indigenous students, staff, faculty and communities and uplift Indigenization by advancing initiatives and strategies that promotes Indigenous Knowledges and supports reconciliation and decolonization.

In the appointment of Program Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be:

Assist in executing two Indigenous summer camps on the USask campus. Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise youth ages 14 to 18 through overnight situations.
  • Record data as directed.
  • Assist in writing reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your general location of work will be on campus in the Office of the Vice-Provost Indigenous Engagement Office in Administration building.

Qualifications:

  • Registered as a full-time student at the University of Saskatchewan.
  • Pass a criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
  • Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys working with youth and other university students in a Team environment.
  • Demonstrate cultural competencies and honors Indigenous knowledge and worldviews.
  • Can commit to supervising overnight during the week of the camps.
