Position Description/Job Duties:
The Institute of Islamic Studies at McGill is seeking applications for a non-tenure track, two-year limited term Faculty Lectureship in Urdu-Hindi Language.  The appointee will be responsible for the coordination, teaching, and implementation of all elements of the Institute of Islamic Studies' Urdu-Hindi language program. This includes teaching Urdu-Hindi at all three levels offered to graduate and undergraduate students (6 courses/ year). The Faculty Lecturer also coordinates and manages the program, in conjunction with the Chair in Urdu Language and Literature, Prof Pasha Khan.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Candidates should have native or near-native proficiency in both Urdu and Hindi, including fluency in both alphabets. They should have experience in, and be familiar with issues involved in, the teaching of both Urdu and Hindi as foreign languages including innovative pedagogical approaches. MA or PhD in a field related to Urdu-Hindi or relevant related degree required.
