Your opportunity:

The School of the Environment serves as an interdisciplinary centre for environment and sustainability education, creating new knowledge, training future leaders, and contributing to positive environmental and social change from the local to the global scale. As an extra-departmental unit within the Faculty of Arts & Science, our faculty are commonly cross-appointed with other departments and units at the University of Toronto. We offer undergraduate programs in Environmental Science and Environmental Studies, several joint undergraduate programs, and graduate programs in interdisciplinary Collaborative Specializations in Environmental Studies and Environment & Health. Our goal is to foster positive change for a sustainable future through transdisciplinary research, teaching, and collaboration.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars
  • Analyzing client needs and making recommendations on event logistics and options
  • Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
  • Conducting post-event evaluation, analysis and recommendations for changes
  • Analyzing survey results
  • Collaborating on cost estimates
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms and disseminating event-related information
  • Updating and maintaining data for various reports

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies or a related field, or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of recent and relevant experience in development and coordination of a wide variety of events and programs execution and evaluation, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
  • Experience analyzing client needs and making recommendations on appropriate event options and logistics in a post-secondary environment.
  • Experience coordinating the schedule for program and event calendars.
  • Experience determining the logistical details and activities for events and/or programming including processing registrations, preparing itineraries, confirming room bookings and speakers, arranging catering, resolving issues that may occur during events, conducting post-event evaluation and analysis and performing other event related duties.
  • Experience preparing event-related information and promotional material and maintaining information on digital platforms.
  • Experience coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items.
  • Demonstrated experience with preparing and editing content for communication, promotion and event material.
  • Experience working with databases and providing reports.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and problem solving skills. Well developed interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), SharePoint, databases, social media platforms, and content management systems.
  • Experience setting up and running virtual events using software platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, PheedLoop, and SpatialChat

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 09 -- $60,006 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $76,739. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
