The Opportunity
We are currently accepting applications for motivated Ed Lab Technician to join our School of Construction Tech team. This position is to mainly support the Pipe trades program along with assisting other programs across the School of Construction.
Reporting to the Academic Chair, the Ed-Tech is accountable for promoting a positive and interactive learning environment with hands-on learning. You will support faculty by ensuring our lab is fully operational and stocked with supplies. The Role
    • Work with faculty to ensure labs are stocked with appropriate supplies
    • Prepare and present labs through equipment maintenance, and cleaning duties
    • Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
    • Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to faculty and management
    • Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
    • Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
    • Assess program designs and continually work to keep SAIT current and on the leading edge of technology and skill within the program you support
    • Ability to continually upgrade to meet the needs of the students and facility as required

Qualifications & Experience
    • A minimum of Alberta Journeyperson ticket in Plumber, Gasfitter or Steamfitter trades or a related trade such as welding etc.
    • Journeyperson ticket in a second similar or related trade considered an asset
    • Five years’ experience in related construction industry, preferably in the pipe trades
    • A combination of industry experience and education may be considered
    • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
    • Strong time management and organizational skills
    • Aptitude for working well within a team environment
    • Possess a positive, respectful attitude, and a high commitment to student success and collaboration

Salary range: $70,200.00 - $73,257.60
Hours Per Week: 40
Position End Date: June 30, 2025
