POSITION CONTEXT

Administer, analyze, supervise, manage or direct the planning and design of campus properties, buildings and grounds, including infrastructure and landscaping projects. Ensure compliance with policies, programs and systems in the field of construction, renovations, planning and design.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, organize and maintain the unit’s project documentation file system
  • Analyze & develop documentation related to process, procedures and standards
  • Management and maintain the individual *electronic* project files
  • Develop and provide technical communications for IT units or other McGill stakeholders
  • Oversee and organize activities to support the daily operations of the unit by ensuring that reports, estimates, costs, and timelines are carried out in accordance with established goals and objectives such as ensure accuracy of
  • Prepare and manage Call for Tender documents with the cooperation of the Project Manager
  • Implement administrative procedures or systems that are moderately complex in support of the department’s operations and ensure activities meet or exceed established quality requirements.
  • Produce planning and renovation activities.
  • Meet with clients to finalize specifications, note potential problems and inform supervisor.
  • Outline required purchases and obtain cost estimates for approval by supervisor.
  • Establish and foster effective working relationships by identifying needs and providing support in the delivery of Telecommunication Infrastructure Systems services.
  • Assess and resolve problems. When appropriate, inform supervisor and formulate recommendations.
  • Attend meetings to represent IT in replacement of colleagues
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and new initiatives that support the strategic direction of the unit.
  • Analyze budgets and draw up changes to contracts.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders to ensure minimal disruptions in the workplace.
  • Offer potential solutions to aid in the planning and development of new services or the improvement of service.
  • Participate at meetings, make recommendations and provide solutions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate degree
Three (3) years' related experience
OR
DEC III
Five (5) years' related experience

  • Strong experience with MS Office tools in particular of Microsoft Excel for data checking, manipulation and reporting
  • Knowledge of project planning in terms of integrating and monitoring multiple plans
  • Experience with a project management tool
  • Fluent in English and French, skilled communicator, both in writing and speaking
  • Ability to work on a team, autonomous and responsible, quality oriented and able to meet deadlines, aptitude for clear and concise thinking, proactive, flexible and able to adapt to change

Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree 3 Years Related Experience with Bachelor’s Degree / DEC III 5 Years Related Experience with DEC III

Annual Salary:

(MPEX Grade 04) $57,330.00 - $71,660.00 - $85,990.00
