Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Academic Support Officer, the ECOR Administrator is responsible for the administrative oversight of the ECOR zero-credit course program.
Additionally, the ECOR Administrator contributes to first-year engineering registration and student support initiatives, by providing clear, accurate, and concise information on a full range of academic issues to first-year undergraduate students, staff and faculty, of the Faculty of Engineering and Design.

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Knowledgeable about administrative and academic procedures.
• Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong team player capable of relating professionally to all members of the University community (staff, faculty, and students).
• Exercises tact, discretion, and respect when dealing with various stakeholders.
• Skilled in problem-solving and knows when to refer students for additional assistance.
• Knowledgeable about University Services.
• Works accurately with attention to detail, emphasizing reliability and precision.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, and self-motivation with minimal supervision.
• Understands and operates effectively in a culturally diverse workplace.
• Adaptable to changing environments and demonstrates sensitivity to various cultural, ethnic, and linguistic profiles.
• Maintains current knowledge and skills in conventional office applications, particularly Banner, and learning management systems such as Brightspace and cuPortfolio, as well as communication and database systems.


Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Completion of a University degree.
• Three-years of related experience, preferably with knowledge in learning support.

Health and Safety Requirements

This position is regularly required to work on campus in person. In the event of a public health emergency or a health and safety issue, it is possible that you may be required to work temporarily remotely due to public health orders, directives and/or health and safety requirements. If this happens, you will work with your direct manager to set up a remote work environment including discussing appropriate technology and requirements. You are required to follow all University policies and directives, including to set up a safe and confidential workspace in a remote location and ensure all Carleton property (intellectual and other) is safeguarded. If required to work remotely, you will be notified by your manager when working full time physically onsite will resume.
