Duties and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, Communications & Digital Marketing, the Digital Content & Marketing Coordinator prepares, posts & monitors content across all Ravens Varsity social sites, facilitates paid campaigns to promote varsity events on social media channels; prepares promotional materials and digital assets for varsity related campaigns and events; captures photo and video assets for use online, writes content for regular electronic update/promotional emails; provides monthly reports on social media and website analytics; participates in on- and off-campus varsity related events.


Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Excellent writing skills are required to prepare marketing emails for on campus varsity events, multimedia presentations, and social media postings.
• Working knowledge of various computer software such as Outlook and other Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Suite programs (Photoshop, Indesign, Premiere etc.), social media analytics tools, email marketing tools, and Google Analytics.
• Ability to learn and keep up-to-date with apps/programs for creating and monitoring social media content, graphic design, and technology related to the improvement of overall marketing initiatives.
• Photography and video skills are required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as a strong knowledge of Carleton University and the Ottawa region.
• Capable of effectively organizing and handling a heavy workload with multiple simultaneous deadlines, working independently, and using good judgment.
• Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends at varsity games and other related events. Travel and time commitments will usually be for a few days.
• English language fluency is required.


Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Completion of a 3-year degree or diploma in marketing/advertising, multimedia design or social media (or equivalent).
• Four years’ of experience in varsity sport, marketing, social media, content curation, graphic design and video editing, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
• Experience in developing content for and monitoring social media sites is required, as is experience in preparing multimedia presentations.
• Experience providing supervision to people an asset.

This position is regularly required to work on campus. Due to the ongoing dynamic nature of Covid-19, you may be required to work temporarily remotely due to public health requirements. If this happens, you will work with your direct manager to set up a remote work environment including discussing appropriate technology and requirements. You are required to follow all directives to set up a safe and confidential workspace in a remote location and ensure all Carleton property (intellectual and other) is safeguarded. If required to work remotely, you will be notified by your manager when working full time physically onsite will resume.
