Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Communications and Branding at the Desautels Faculty of Management, the Digital Campaign Officer is responsible for designing, executing, and managing digital marketing campaigns for McGill Desautels. The incumbent will collaborate with key stakeholders to build paid media campaigns and develop lead nurturing opportunities. The candidate will collaborate with various teams to develop, implement, track, and optimize the digital marketing activities across all channels to support the growth and objectives of the Faculty’s Programs. Working closely with different teams, the role will manage the marketing, advertising and promotional activities for brand awareness, quality traffic growth, lead generation, connection, and engagement. The candidate possesses an in-depth understanding of the Faculty’s Programs and their marketing goals and have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies, as well as be able to assist in integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate in the ongoing management of the key digital touch points and take ownership of digital analytics, metrics, and campaign reporting; propose recommendations and adjustments to internal stakeholders.
- Support the lead generation and acquisition of new students.
- Actively participate in creating the digital marketing campaign content, including web, SEO/SEM, email, media, and display advertising aligned with business goals.
- Lead and manage SEO/SEM, social media and/or display advertising campaigns, as well as identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate across multiple platforms.
- Interface with online advertising vendors (Google Ads, LinkedIn, Facebook/Instagram, and others) to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer across Programs.
- Create targeted digital content (e.g., website, blogs, emails, social channels).
- Work closely with the Marketing & Communications team and/or vendors on keyword analysis to optimize SEO/SEM campaigns.
- Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners and assist with invoicing and budgets.
- Manage and engage with a wide range of stakeholders and their individual needs and communicate with them in an inclusive and informative way.
- Build landing pages and update program pages within McGill Desautels CMS.
- Assist in the implementation of email program flows to nurture prospects.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Proven experience in delivering effective and innovative digital campaigns. Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyze and interpret data. Demonstrated experience delivering various digital assets, including online ads and social media applications. Proven experience in managing successful social media campaigns and a solid understanding of social marketing; preferably in a higher education setting. Experience setting up Google Ads and optimizing SEO. Excellent analytical, organization and communication skills. Experience with LinkedIn Campaign Manager, setting up LinkedIn ads and optimizing target audiences. Experience in managing advertising budgets across multiple platforms, requesting quotes and invoicing. Is up-to-date with trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement. Willing to work within the constraints of McGill’s Web Management System (WMS). Solid knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Drupal and Salesforce. Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
