Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Academic Director of the Nursing Clinical Skills Laboratory, assists in the day-to-day operations of Ingram School of Nursing’s hi technology/fidelity area of the clinical skills laboratory.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedules lab sessions for a courses using high fidelity teaching/learning modalities.

  • Assists in developing clinical learning scenarios.

  • Sets up task trainers, program manikins, and ensure all necessary setups needed to achieve learning objectives according to case scenarios.

  • Maintains all equipment in the high-technology critical care space and the simulated home environment.

  • Assists in low-technology lab areas based on need.

  • Provides assistance with audiovisual equipment set up within the nursing laboratory, including in debriefing rooms.

  • Helps academic staff in designing and updating Web-based course material. Assists academic staff in their searches for course material and other related information, on the web or elsewhere. Collaborates with academic staff in the production of videos and CDs for classes or independent review.

  • Performs administrative and some accounting functions to help manage the teaching lab budget.

  • Liaises with hi-fidelity suppliers.

  • Helps academic staff in designing and updating Web-based course material.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical field is an asset (e.g, physiology, biology, anatomy, nursing)

  • Advanced computer skills (e.g.: proven Microsoft Office competency...)

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in a hospital or simulation environment, an asset.

  • Demonstrated experience with combination of technical and functional aspects of simulation technology and equipment, an asset

  • Proven experience facilitating and teaching. 

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: -- DEC III (Medical Laboratory Technology) -- 4 years of related experience

Hourly Salary:

(MUNACA Level 12) $24.65 - $34.01
