Winter 2022 Supplemental Course Lecturer Position

The Department of Political Science is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Winter 2022. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.
POLI 524-001 Seminar: Developed Areas (CAP 20)
Seminar on developed areas.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
A completed PhD degree or enrolled in a doctoral program in Political Science or a discipline related to the course;
Provide evidence of effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught a similar course;
The candidate's area of specialization must be as close as possible to that of the course being offered;
Experience as a teaching assistant for a course is an asset.
Fridays 02:35 pm-05:25 pm, January 5, 2022 – April 12, 2022. Location: LEA 424.
Please note that given the planned resumption of in-person teaching activities, most courses will be taught in person. Exams may however need to be administered remotely depending, mainly on the size of the class. Course Lecturers will be required to plan accordingly. Should government restrictions prohibit the resumption of in-person teaching, courses will revert to remote teaching. In the event of such a change, Course Lecturers will be advised without delay. Course Lecturers may be required to prepare and deliver teaching material suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom, WebEx] and the McGill myCourses learning management system. Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS). Course Lecturers are encouraged to record their lectures.
The language of instruction at McGill is English, but proficiency in spoken and written French is an asset.
Salary: $9,625 per course.
