Fall 2023 Course Lecturer Position

The Department of Political Science is inviting applications for a course lecturer position to teach in Fall 2023. Please include your Cover Letter and Curriculum Vitae and if applicable a copy of your Study/Work Permit. A brief course outline is optional.


POLI 424-001 Media and Politics (CAP 45)
The role of media in domestic and international politics, with reference to recent studies in political science. Themes in the study of mass media and politics in developed democracies.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

  • A completed PhD degree or enrolled in a doctoral program in Political Science or a discipline related to the course;

  • Provide evidence of effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught a similar course;

  • The candidate's area of specialization must be as close as possible to that of the course being offered;

  • Experience as a teaching assistant for a course is an asset.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 08:35 am-09:55 am, August 30, 2023 – December 5, 2023. Location: LEA 109.

McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.

Salary: $9,625 per course.
