EDSP 682D1D2 Psycho-Educational Assessment & Intervention Practicum (6 credits) yearlong (CRNs F22: 5622; W23: 5117)

Course Description: Seminar and field practice in administration and interpretation of educational and psychological tests. Expansion of assessment knowledge and applications across domains and populations. Supervision of report writing, communication and ethical use of test information. Assessment and intervention take place within professional role of School Psychology.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Degree(s) required:

  • PhD in School Psychology, Counselling Psychology or Clinical Psychology

Experience required:

  • Two years of clinical experience in the assessment of children
  • Instructor must be registered for psychological practice by Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ)

Other requirements:

  • If the applicant has taught this course exactly once previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations in this course that meet the Department’s expectations. This requirement does not apply to applicants who have taught the course at least twice
  • If the applicant has not taught this course previously, but has taught in the hiring unit previously, she/he must have had satisfactory teaching evaluations that meet the Department’s expectations
  • Adherence to evolving program requirements concerning course content and program-developed competencies; course content and references must reflect the most current advances in the field
  • If 3 years or more post-degree, evidence of continuing education (minimum 15 CE hours per year)

Effective dates of appointment are August 21, 2022 to December 10, 2022. Course dates are August 31, 2022 to December 5, 2022. This course will be offered in-person on campus at McGill.

Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) . Course Lecturers are encouraged to record their lectures.
