Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs)

  • Ph.D. or ABD Ph.D. candidate in Communication Studies.
  • expertise in disability studies as evidenced by coursework and thesis topic
  • Some teaching experience in Communication Studies is an asset.
  • Ideally has TA’d for COMS 210

Course description : Explores communication, technology and culture from the perspective of disability. Topics may included identity, stigma, representation and art; design, access and accessibility; normalization and classification; contrasting models of disability; interfaces between bodies and technologies; the disabling dimensions of environments and technologies; disability policy and activism.
