Explanation of course levels: 200-level courses are introductory surveys of the area.300-level courses offer intermediate-level explorations of their subject areas.400-level courses are advanced, intensive seminar explorations of a specialized area or special topics courses, depending on the course number.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):

  • Ph.D. or ABD Ph.D. candidate in Art History.
  • Some teaching experience in Art History is an asset.

Course description :  A critical survey of contemporary art and theory, from 1945 to the present focusing on pivotal issues such as anti-war politics, feminism, sexual diversity, AIDS awareness, discourse of multiculturalism, debates about modernism and postmodernism, post colonialism, technology, and globalization.
