The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. Position summary
Under the direct supervision of the end users computing supervisor, the specialist provides user help desk services, ensures resolution of problems related to personal computers and accessories, network and data center access, as well as telecommunication systems usage. The incumbent also sets up personal computers and maintains data center systems.

General Duties
Manage and tune departmental computer software systems and network connections. Acquire, install and set up end user computer hardware, software and telecommunication systems, maintain records of user profiles
• Receive and resolve staff information systems and telecommunication (network, desktops and telephone) help requests
• Maintain an inventory of information system equipment, peripherals, accessories and software. Ensure preventative maintenance, including checking, troubleshooting and repairing of workstations, printers, and peripherals
• Provide desktop and network support to investigators and their staff, assume other responsibilities as delegated by the immediate superior

•DEC with specialization in Computer Science from an institution recognized by the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport or
• Attestation of pertinent studies whereby the equivalence is recognized by a competent authority
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in his/her field of specialization

Status : Temporary Full-time
Pay Scale: Commensurate with qualifications and experience (35-hour workweek) - $42,260.40 -$78,460.20.
Work Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays
Work Site: All MUHC Sites
