Under the direction of the Technical Support Services Supervisor, and reporting to the Chair, the Computer Network Administrator will support the computer hardware and software resources used in educational, administrative and research activities of the department.

Job has shared responsibilities with the computer network technician to install and maintain servers, operating systems, systems patches; creating windows/linux image, network installation, monitoring and fault diagnosis. The job also assists in maintaining hardware and software inventory.

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Knowledge and experience in use of system administration tool, shell scripting, scripting languages.
• Working experience with Windows, Linux, Mac OS and UNIX operating system in use in the department is required.
• Experience with ethernet, wireless technologies and TCP/IP protocols used on the network is essential.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents.
• Ability to write technical reports and be able to effectively present information to faculty and staff.

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• 3 year Computer Engineering Technology Program – Computer Science
• 1 year Enterprise Network Specialist equivalencies will be considered.
• 7-8 years experience in computer systems and network administration.
