Hiring Unit:
Faculty of Science

Position Summary:

The Faculty of Science at McGill University aims to be a leader in scientific discovery and in finding solutions critical to economic and human development, including key questions in the environmental sciences, new materials, and new technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to building awareness of Faculty of Science research, people and students, publications, events and other initiatives, consistent with the University’s and Faculty’s missions and strategic direction.
• Produce videos about the Faculty of Science and its students and faculty
• Photograph research initiatives and events
• Assist Faculty of Science communication team with media production
• Conduct interviews with faculty and students on campus
• Collaborate with Faculty of Science staff on other multimedia tasks as needed

Note: this position will require 6 to 10 hours per week

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Demonstrated experience producing and editing videos for social media
• Demonstrated video and photography experience in varied lighting and sound conditions
• Video editing experience with Adobe Premier Pro or Final Cut Pro an asset
• Graphic design experience and familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite an asset
• Reliable, with strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Knowledge of the Faculty of Science an asset
• Registered McGill Science student preferred
