Hiring Unit:

Student Services Communications’ team use their expertise in content creation, storytelling and design to create information and messages tailored to McGill students. The team collaborates with subject-matter experts in our service areas to create a wide range of products, including print materials, videos, animations, websites, podcasts, and many others.  The AskMcGill team of student navigators are also an integral part of the team, providing students with a single source of information about the services available to them.

Position Summary:
McGill Student Services is comprised of 8 units that provide various support and resources to assist students throughout their academic career at McGill. Many of our units are housed in the Brown Student Services Building on McGill's downtown campus.  We also provide support for students on McGill's MAC campus. Tasks may vary but will include some or all of the Major duties listed below.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet clients entering our campus spaces with a positive attitude. 
• Answer specific inquires, including detailed information regarding Student Services units and programs by e-mail, telephone or in person.
• Support the work of the Communications Team (Social Media, Web Editing, Graphics, Podcast, Blog, graphic design, and/ or audio/video editing)  please specify your interest/ experience with any of the above mentioned tasks.
• Assist with event planning/set up & logistical/technical support for Student Services events

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

• Currently registered as a full-time student in a degree program at McGill
• Work Study Eligible Students Preferred
• Will be returning as a full-time student in Fall 2022
• Must have 1+ years experience with one or more of the following competencies: customer service, social media, podcasting, graphic design, audio/video editing
• Familiarity with Student Services units and functions
• Service oriented with great interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, problem-solve and work independently and as part of a team
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, French an asset
