RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Reporting to the Director of Communications, the incumbent will provide bilingual communication services to inform and engage the RI-MUHC community of researchers, trainees, employees, as well as its diverse network of partners, followers and the wider public. The Advisor will promote the RI-MUHC in a manner consistent with the organization’s commitment to excellence in biomedical research and to improving the health of individual patients across their lifespan.

General Duties
Develop written and visual content to promote scientific discoveries, research events, and stories of excellence from the researchers, trainees and staff at the RI-MUHC. Liaise with stakeholders to develop and edit relevant content.

•Adjust content for sharing via multiple communications channels, including the RI-MUHC's website, intranet and social media, striving to maximize audience reach while maintaining the highest professional standards,

•Assist in maintaining and improving the RI-MUHC's various communications channels, including website, intranet, email and social media,

•Build audiences for various communications channels, working with multiple stakeholders to maximize engagement,

•Effectively support and promote activities and events relevant to the RI-MUHC community,

•Participate in the development of annual goals, objectives and action plans for the RI-MUHC Communications team,

•Coordinate with McGill, MUHC, and other external communications teams as required,

•Participate in special projects and perform other duties as requested.


Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Communications, Journalism or a degree in a scientific discipline with strong communications experience from a work environment

Work Experience: 3+ years experience in a communications environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Required Skills

•Fluent in French and English, spoken and written,

•Superior writing skills,

•Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations,

•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision,

•Knowledge of the university and healthcare sector an asset,

•Understanding of biomedical research an asset.


Additional information

Status : Full time
Pay Scale: $48,503.00 to $90,090.00 Commensurate with education and work experience.
Work Shift: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm with flexibility
Work Site: Mainly telework with onsite requirement for events, meetings, etc.
