The Faculty of Engineering at Université de Sherbrooke has created a competition that fits perfectly with its bold and creative mission. Female doctoral candidates and young doctoral graduates can now participate in the Claire-Deschênes Postdoctoral Fellowship Competition.
The goal of the Claire-Deschênes Postdoctoral Fellowship Competition is to promote postdoctoral training for women who will also be offered a professorship position in engineering at Université de Sherbrooke.
Submit your application and you could be awarded one of the four postdoctoral fellowships ($ 40,000/year, up to 2 years) each attached to a professorship at the Université de Sherbrooke.
Engineering - Scholarship open to allThis category is open to any candidate working in one of the following fields: biotechnology engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, building engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering or robotics engineering. Whether it is for its excellence in research or its sustainable values, choosing the Université de Sherbrooke means opting for an institution of higher learning on a human scale above all.
Building Engineering - Life Cycle AssessmentThe candidate will contribute to teaching in the Faculty of Engineering programs, particularly in the areas of life cycle assessment (LCA) and eco-design. She will also be expected to participate in the development of multidisciplinary engineering education and research activities. She will conduct fundamental and applied research in any of the following areas: consequential LCA modeling, dynamic LCA modeling, life cycle environmental impact assessment, life cycle inventory development, etc. The application themes deal with major societal issues, such as carbon neutrality, raw material scarcity, circular economy, etc.
Chemical engineering – Technological risksThe candidate will contribute to establishing a new research program in chemical engineering and biotechnology engineering. Tasks will include basic and applied research in a variety of subject areas within the field of technological risks, e.g., identification and assessment of risk associated with hazardous materials, risk assessment in land use planning and the transportation of hazardous materials, risk analysis methods, source and dispersion modeling, process safety design strategies, and strengthening standards/regulations.
Computer engineeringThe candidate will be expected to participate in teaching and conduct fundamental and applied research in one or more of the following areas: cybersecurity, quantum computing, hybrid classical-quantum systems, large-scale distributed systems, cloud computing. In addition, she should show interest in teaching in one or more of the following areas: compilers and programming languages, databases, operating systems and concurrent programming, advanced file systems, agile methodology (continuous integration, testing), user experience (UX), networking and embedded systems and connected objects.
