The Chief of Staff & Directory of Strategy (COS) has broad responsibilities for providing strategic professional guidance and support to the President and CEO and Executive Team to enable them to effectively and efficiently carry out their corporate and governing duties. As a key contact with NAIT’s internal and external communities, this position contributes to the success of the Polytechnic’s mission and vision, oversees major strategic and planning documents, and builds enduring relationships with key stakeholders.

A researcher, writer, and highly skilled administrator and manager, this position has key responsibilities in the coordination, issues management, and communications functions of the Office and, as a consequence, the Polytechnic climate and reputation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the office of the President, including managing EAs of the Office of the President
  • Board Operations
  • Executive and Senior Management Operations
  • Strategic and Business Planning and Reporting
  • Communications
  • Strategic Interests
  • Relationship Building
  • Responsible for President’s Office and Board of Governors' budget.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and superior communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills and organization-wide perspective
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt well to change and manage ambiguity, higher-level critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of complex planning, development, implementation and project management practices
  • Technical knowledge; advanced knowledge of MS Office products and social networking platform
  • Highly proficient at working in and promoting a collaborative environment
  • Strong research skills; superior writing skills and the ability to produce error-free communications in plain language

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8 years of related experience
  • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered

 

RemunerationSalary is negotiable depending on experience.
