RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
CANTRAIN is a national clinical trial-training program (CTTP) in response to a call by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR). Its vision is to offer the best, certified and standardized clinical trials’ training and mentoring program across Canada accompanied by Internships for Trainees in a real-world setting.

General Duties
The CANTRAIN’S National Program Designer & Developer of Clinical Trials Training Programs will use adult learning principles and e-Learning instructional strategies to design, implement, and evaluate clinical research education curricula that ensures the safe, effective, and efficient conduct of clinical trials.

The Designer/Developer’s primary role and responsibilities will be to:
● Develop comprehensive and engaging modular educational curricula for the CANTRAIN clinical trials training platform and research enterprise,
● Build and convert existing educational material (i.e., PowerPoints presentations) into technology-based online and mobile learning formats for the CANTRAIN platform,
● Design interactive knowledge checks and other methods of evaluating student learning for CANTRAIN learning pathways,
● Collaborate with educators and subject matter experts across multiple sites to develop and evaluate e-Learning modules for adoption by CANTRAIN,
● Participate in ongoing education and CANTRAIN meetings to review milestones, metrics, and planning,


Education / Experience

Education: Master's Degree
Field of Study: Post-graduate education in Instructional design, adult education, eLearning development, Educational Technology, or related field.
Other education considered an asset for this position:
Work Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in an educational or similar development role.

Other requirements:
● In-depth knowledge and experience with industry-standard online learning tools including Articulate Storyline and Rise,
● In-depth knowledge and experience applying e-learning, QA and AODA standards,
● Experience with integrating eLearning modules into learning management systems,
● Works well within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment to support CANTRAIN objectives,
● Ability to multitask, prioritize projects and utilize problem solving skills,
● Motivated with a strong attention to detail and accuracy,
● Excellent organizational skills,


Additional information

Status: Temporary Full-Time (35-hour workweek)
Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience
Work Shift: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Work Site: 5252 de Maisonneuve
