Description: A course focusing on the central dogma of genetics and how molecular techniques are used to investigate cellular processes. Topics include structure and function of the nucleus, DNA replication and cell cycle control, transcription and translation, gene regulation and signal transduction.

Minimum Qualifications:Includes: ability, academic qualifications, suitability for the position and appropriate background in the subject/specialty. Strong background in cell biology and genetics required. 

Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position. 

Duties: Duties for the position may vary and include: preparation for classes, conducting in person tutorials with breakout groups, invigilating and marking. Specific duties are defined in the contract by the instructor in charge of the course. Please note duties are performed in person at the UTSC campus.  

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement. It is understood that some announcements of vacancies are tentative, pending final course determinations and enrolment.

Salary: $55.25/hour, plus 4% vacation pay. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
