The set designer works closely with the director of the Department of English mainstage production to create an overall visual presentation on the stage. They work closely with other designers – especially the costume designer – to ensure visual unity across the production in accordance with the Director’s interpretation of the play.

Tasks:

  • Familiarize themselves with the play
  • Attend regular production meetings
  • Conduct research on the play and its design elements
  • Confirm requirements for set ; obtain theatre floor plan from Technical Director
  • Produce rough sketches for set design as part of a visual presentation
  • Work out floor plans, perspective sketches
  • Provide input on production schedule
  • Provide scaled floor plans and working drawings of the set to Technical Director
  • Meet with crew heads
  • Prepare cost estimates and source materials, as required
  • Be available for consultation with all production departments


Minimum Education and Experience:


High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience


Hourly Salary:


(AMUSE C) $25.00
