Job Summary
The Registrar’s Office (RO) is a large, multi-unit, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Associate Director, Recruitment (Domestic), the Assistant Registrar participates in programs related to recruiting and admitting undergraduate students to Dalhousie. The Assistant Registrar is responsible for coordinating the campus visit program for the Agricultural Campus and manages student recruitment special events for the faculty.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the management of daily campus visit requests, providing prospective visitors with detailed information, scheduling assistance, and prompt and professional follow-up and instructions.
  • Lead projects specific to recruitment of undergraduate students. Responsible for planning, executing and evaluating projects.
  • Advise on admission requirements for undergraduate programs and maintain a working knowledge of requirements for graduate and professional programs.
  • Participate in market recruitment strategies including, but not limited to, school visits, career/college fairs and alumni events, campus tours, parent information sessions.
  • Manage all aspects of campus tour program and continually evaluate its success within the context of student recruitment. Identify new and emerging trends and opportunities, as well as areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate Special Events designed to showcase the Agricultural Campus.
Note
Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree plus, a minimum of three to five years’ related experience in a post-secondary environment (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Considerable experience with event planning, public speaking and one-on-one communication.
  • Knowledge of high school programs in Atlantic Canada and beyond.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Proficiency with common computer applications included within the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Working knowledge of student information systems (ex. Banner)
