Position Description:

We are currently seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in theoretical or experimental quantum science with a focus on quantum photonics beginning as early as September 2022. We are particularly looking for candidates with research programs at the intersection of optics, photonics, quantum sensing, and quantum information science.  

All qualified candidates in quantum science and technology whose research relates to quantum photonics, broadly defined, are invited to apply. The successful candidate will be encouraged to join the Center for the Physics of Materials (www.physics.mcgill.ca/cpm ), the Quebec funded Transdisciplinary Institute of Excellence in Quantum Information (https://www.intriq.org ) and the multi-university Cluster in Advanced Materials (www.rqmp.ca/?lang=en ). The successful candidate will be supported by a start-up package and will be nominated for a Chair in Quantum Photonics funded by the Ministère de l’économie etde l’innovation du Québec. S alary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Job Duties:

  • Research in Quantum Science and Technology
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Supervision of undergraduate students, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
  • Participation in Departmental activities

PhD degree in theoretical or experimental quantum science with a focus on quantum photonics
