Assistant Professor (Clinical)

Under the supervision of the head physiotherapist, the physiotherapist will provide therapy services to the patients of the McGill sport medicine clinic from the community, our alumni and McGill staff and our varsity athletes.

The main responsibilities in relation to the position are:

• Provide high quality standards of care following all guidelines of l’Ordre professionnel de la physiotherapie du Quebec for assessments and treatments.
• Work in close collaboration with our interdisciplinary medical group
• Be involved with clinic activities such as in-services, work groups, research projects etc.
• Participate in mentorship sessions
• Provide sport physiotherapy services to a designated varsity team: at the training site, during competition at McGill or at other universities, follow-ups with the medical team and treatments at the clinic, collaboration with the coaching staff, mentorship and teaching  of physiotherapy students, interdisciplinary work required during the duration of the contract.

Requirements:

Sport physiotherapist

• Master Degree in Physiotherapy
• Be a member in good standing with l’Ordre professionnel de la Physiotherapie du Quebec and Sport Physiotherapy Canada
• Have at least 1 years of clinical work and field work with athletes
• Have a valid Sports First Responders certification
• Manuel therapy courses are an asset
• Being enrolled in the Sport Physiotherapy Canada certification is an asset

Sous la supervision du physiothérapeute en chef, le physiothérapeute offrira les soins thérapeutiques aux patients de la clinique de médecine sportive de Mcgill soit la clientèle communautaire, à la communauté de McGill (étudiants, employés et alumni) ainsi qu’aux athlètes varsity.

Les principales responsabilités en lien avec le poste sont:

• Offrir des soins de qualité supérieure suivant les normes de l’Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec dans l’évaluation et le traitements des pathologies.
• Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les membres de l’équipe médicale interdisciplinaire.
• Participer aux activités de la clinique tel que les présentations, les groupes de travail, les projets de recherches, etc...
• Participer aux sessions de mentorat.
• Offrir des services de physiothérapie du sport à une équipe varsity attitrée: aux entraînements, lors des compétitions et matchs à McGill ou à d’autres universités s’il y a lieu, coordonner les suivis avec l’équipe médicale, offrir des traitements en clinique, collaborer avec le coach et le personnel de soutien de l’équipe, mentorer et enseigner aux étudiants en physiothérapie. Le travail interdisciplinaire est requis pour la durée du contrat.     

Exigences:

Physiothérapeute du sport

•  Avoir obtenu un diplôme universitaire de 2ème cycle en physiothérapie.
• Être membre en bonne et dû forme de l’Ordre Professionnel de la Physiothérapie du Québec et de Sport Physiothérapie Canada.
• Avoir au moins 1 ans d’expérience de travail clinique et terrain avec des athlètes.
• Avoir un certificat valide de Premier Répondant du Sport.
•  Avoir de la formation continue en thérapie manuelle orthopdique est un atout Etre dans le processus de certification de Sport Physiothérapie Canada est un atout.

(MPEX Grade 05) $63,140.00 - $94,700.00
