Position Description:
The McGill Department of Anesthesia in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is currently seeking applications for a full-time Contract Academic Staff position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical). This is a three-year renewable appointment and does not confer eligibility for tenure.
The position is based at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) – Montreal General Hospital located in the vibrant and multicultural city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec. The MUHC is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at McGill University and it offers a dynamic, multidisciplinary, clinical, academic, and research environment that fosters clinical excellence, innovative teaching, and clinical research opportunities.

Job Duties:

The successful candidate’s clinical responsibilities will include providing anesthesia and perioperative care at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) – Montreal General Hospital. The academic responsibilities also involve teaching fellows, residents and medical students of McGill University, as well as participation in research activities and the medical education programs provided by the Department of Anesthesia within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Hold a medical degree and must hold or be eligible for licensure in the province of Quebec;

  • Possess anesthesia specialty certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCPC), or equivalent;

  • Fulfill the requirements for the office québécois de la langue française (OQLF).
