The Bachelor of Global and International Studies (BGInS) Program, within the Arthur Kroeger College of Public Affairs, invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment in Global and International Studies at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will be expected to research, teach and supervise students (primarily undergraduate) in the field of Global and International Studies. Preference will be given, but is not limited to, those with a focus on the middle east, or in the areas of either global ethics or global law and politics.

Launched in 2015, the BGInS program is an interdisciplinary program jointly sponsored by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Public Affairs. Over 120 Carleton faculty members, from 19 different academic units, are affiliated with the program, which has approximately 1000 undergraduate students and five full time faculty. The BGInS program is unique in Canada in that it offers students and faculty a comprehensive multi- and inter-disciplinary space for teaching, learning, research and policy engagement on issues related to globalization in our contemporary period. Applicants must hold a Ph. D. in a discipline related to one of BGInS areas of specialization, with a research and teaching focus that is international or global in nature.

The successful candidate will bring an active research agenda, with a record of quality publications commensurate with career level, as well as teaching and administrative experience. Attributes will include a track record of successful grant funding and a network of international academic contacts. The candidate should be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary context.
