The Department of Mathematics in the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for up to four full-time tenure stream positions in the area of Applied Mathematics. The appointments will be at rank of Assistant Professor and the anticipated start date is July 1, 2022.
The applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter, and demonstrable excellence in research and teaching. Excellence in research will be demonstrated by a record of impactful contributions, publications in top ranked mathematics journals or forthcoming publications meeting the highest international standards, presentations at significant conferences, the submitted research statement, awards and accolades, and exceptionally strong endorsements by referees of top international stature. Evidence of excellence in teaching must be provided through teaching accomplishments, strong letters of reference, and the teaching dossier, including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations or other evidence of superior performance in teaching-related activities submitted as part of the application. Other teaching-related activities can include performance as a teaching assistant or course instructor, experience leading successful workshops or seminars, student mentorship, or excellent conference presentations or posters. Candidates are also expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment demonstrated through the application materials.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
