Your opportunity:

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Dean and Registrar, the Admissions and Academic Administrator is responsible for administrative functions including advising students on program and/or course requirements, preparing acceptance and/or decline letters to applicants, analyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvements, editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks, room bookings, and promoting programs at recruitment events. This position will also be responsible for coordinating in-person and virtual student services related events and assisting with the student examination process.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice to departments and staff on admissions requirements
  • Providing detailed explanations of admissions decisions
  • Reviewing and assessing admissions applications
  • Disseminating information regarding recruitment dates, requirements and application procedures
  • Tracking and monitoring recruitment activities
  • Liaising with contacts to obtain exams and related materials
  • Handling the delivery of examination question booklets
  • Coordinating appropriate accommodation needs for students

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years of recent work experience in a post-secondary registrarial environment including experience with admissions and student recruitment.
  • Experience providing advice to departments and staff on admissions requirements.
  • Experience reviewing and assessing admissions applications and providing detailed explanations on admissions decisions.
  • Experience coordinating the examination process while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Experience coordinating events including determining the logistical details and liaising with stakeholders to coordinate space and resource requirements.
  • Experience promoting programs at recruitment events.
  • Experience tracking and monitoring recruitment activities.
  • Experience maintaining websites and databases, and generating reports.
  • Experience analyzing existing processes and systems and making recommendations for change.
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite, exam software, learning management systems, student information systems and content management systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise good judgment in dealing with faculty, staff and students.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a commitment to student success and the enhancement of diversity.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment that requires multi-tasking, managing competing demands and adaptability.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 11 -- $73,748 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $94,310. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
