Reporting to the Dean, School of Health and Life Sciences, this role, as the sole supervisor of the administrative team, provides overall leadership and management functions for this group as individuals and as a team.  The position assures that all work performed by the team meets the administrative quality and service delivery requirements of the school.  

This is a temporary position ending on April 30, 2022.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to program administrative staff.
  • Liaise between leadership/management and program administrative staff to ensure program and School needs are met.
  • Provide organization & coordination of administrative functions within the school.
  • Assist in budget preparation, monitoring and analysis.
  • Develop & implement new process & procedures to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Develop & implement consistent training/cross training process for new and existing staff.
  • Provide support in general administrative tasks as required.


Skills and Abilities:

The successful candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to balance priorities and take initiative; and the ability to exercise tact and discretion. Knowledge of MS Office suite is essential. Knowledge of computerized application systems, (i.e. PeopleSoft) would be an asset.


Qualifications:

  • Related post-secondary diploma or certificate
  • 3-5 years supervisory/leadership experience
  • Equivalencies may be considered


Remuneration:  $2,063.58 - $2,714.07 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefits package. (AUPE Classification: Admin Officer I)

NOTE: This position is covered by the AUPE (Alberta Union of Provincial Employees) Collective Agreement.
